About the bridge

The West Flagler Street Bridge is a double-leaf bascule built in 1967, carrying westbound traffic out of downtown Miami as a companion to the SW 1st Street Bridge one block to the south. The two bridges work as a pair, and West Flagler served as the signed detour while SW 1st Street was rebuilt.
